We’ve got three labels on Colin, so if he wanders off hopefully people know to bring him back.

This week we’ve welcomed another two new practices aboard with trips to Bodmin and Helston; we’ve operated on a BOAS case (opening nostrils and shortening soft-palate), straightened kneecaps, fused a wrist, removed a cystic kidney, corrected eyelid abnormalities in dogs and a cat, screwed an elbow, stabilised knee joints and unfortunately shared some very sad news for two patients and their owners.

That’s part of the job too, and a very important one too, where time, kindness and empathy are vital to share.

We’ve been doing distanced reviews where possible, keeping clients and colleagues at home whilst providing updates and info from videos and on messages until we can all return to our normal reviews and radiographs.

We’re doing lots of advice and case sharing messages, and always welcome enquiries and case discussions, happy to help wherever we can. Lockdown vetting is a bit weird, and we definitely miss being close up with clients and pitching in with colleagues, but that will return in time.

And then, when the masks are gone and brews are shared, we’ll get to see what everyone’s faces look like too (but we’ll still keep the labels on Colin – just to be safe!)
